Diploma in Civil Engineering is a three year aided diploma programme with minimum eligibility SSC. In the civil engineering field, there are a number of specialized areas where one can focus based on personal interest. The main areas of focus for civil engineers include structural engineering, construction, geotechnical engineering, water resources and transportation.
Society will always be expanding and demand for the construction of dams, bridges; buildings, etc. will be on rise. Because of this, civil engineers will easily find work when they leave the institute. Civil engineers are central figures in community development. Buildings and roads provide the basis of city infrastructure. Civil Engineers not only provide them, but they use their skills to optimize performance and efficiency of community systems.
Pedagogy includes concoction of traditional teaching and ICT based teaching learning practices like Google Classroom,Think Pair Share and Do it Yourself. Mini-Projects are offered to encourage project based learning among students. The projects are assigned as per students’ choice mapped with knowledge / thrust areas of Computer Engineering.Expert lectures, seminars, workshops, soft skills training,entrepreneurship training program, inplant training during vacation, site visits, field visit, hands on training are also included.The curriculum also avails flexibility for students to choose their area of interest as an elective courses in higher semester.The curriculum is aimed to bring about the growth of the students through experiential and practical learnings. Encouraged to opt for on-line certificate courses offered through Coursera.
